MLB Player Props for Friday, July 1st

This is the first in what we will try to do as a regular posting/updating. If you haven't been paying attention, BTB and BTB Jesse have had an outstanding season in baseball. These are not their plays, so take 'em, leave 'em, enjoy, share, whatever. If you want their plays, you can click the Buy Packages link and get in on their 30 days of plays. It is well worth the money.

Baseball is juicy. You would rarely play an NBA team at -176 or an NFL moneyline at the same price. But, it is fairly common to see in MLB, and, if there is value, still, it could be worthwhile to risk the juice. For me, and for these articles, I'm going to work to find plus money plays, or low juiced plays. I'll give a really brief overview of the play and why. Hopefully, we can make a bit of cash together.

Here is my blanket disclaimer: this is not my area of expertise. I'm working to get better at this particular part of the game. If you typically are a $100 bettor, maybe drop your unit size to $25 or $50 for these plays until you decide if you like them or not. It's your money though, so do as you please.

Max Muncy under 0.5 hits +125 (DraftKings)

Muncy faces Blake Snell tonight, and while most people that are playing beer league softball might be able to make contact against Snell right now, Muncy is 0-for-10 in his career against Snell with three strikeouts. In 19 June games, he's had a hit in a little less than half of them. I like him to go hitless tonight.

Corey Kluber over 4.5 Ks +114 (FanDuel)

This is heavily juiced at DraftKings at 3.5. I think Kluber should manage to get to five Ks today against the Blue Jays. He's struck out their hitters about once every three at-bats against him in his career. If he faces 20 batters, he should manage to get to five. He has six strikeouts in each of his last two games. He threw against them four times last year and was 50/50 on the number posted today. I'll take a shot.

Cristian Javier under 16.5 outs recorded -115 (DraftKings)

Javier has been good this season, and most of his success has come at home. He's been good in his career against the Angels, but he's also only recorded 17 outs in four games this season. He's also coming off a game where he threw 115 pitches. This game should be an easy one for the Astros so he may be done after five.
