Last night’s Monday Night Football game was loaded with betting action and some big realizations. For one, Drew Brees may just have a noodle arm now. For two, Mr. Brightside still is and will always be a banger. Finally, it was a picture perfect night for some wagers on the first NFL football game at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.
Personally, I was happy to cash in a Kamara/Cook anytime scorer parlay before I finished my first drink and before the Saints decided to shit the bed. Piles of money were tossed on Gruden’s Raiders prior to kickoff leading to the line changing from +5.5 to as low as +3.5 at the Superbook in the Vegas Westgate. The Superbook also took a $22,000 straight bet on the Raiders +5.5 and another $50,000 on the Raiders +4.
It seemed as if many were very heavy on the under as well because the total opened at 51.5 and dropped at least 3 points at most places. BTB didn’t fall for the nonsense and cashed in on the over to cap off a 11-3 & +10.05u week of crazy NFL action. BTBJesse also cashed in on Vegas +4!
What would the first NFL game in Vegas be without a little rolling of the dice? That’s exactly what Jon Gruden did when he decided to throw 25-year-old kicker Daniel Carlson out to kick a 54-yarder with just over a minute left. A miss would lead to great field position and some hope for Saints bettors. However, Carlson nailed it and the 2-0 celebration started in Sin City.
